I always imagined that if I wrote a book, the last page would be reserved for the briefest of bios. It would say something like this, “Katie lives with her family and two cats in Iowa”.
Well I don’t live in Iowa, and I’m not married or a mother, so I’ll say the following:
Katie and her three precious dogs live together in a house in Northeast Bakersfield in Central California. She bought the home because of the citrus trees in the backyard, and the fact that it was built in the 1930’s, and as luck would have it because of an instinctive sense of “home” when she first pulled up. The home is more lived in that before the new inhabitants arrived, but it full of more cuddling on a daily basis. One day she could see herself living with a family, perhaps on a farm, in Iowa, and writing children’s books, or essays for adults, or really anything that gives her that spark, and that feeling of being in flow.
